Gaby Moreno is a Boston-based Salvadoran-American artist who aspires to be an art therapist at a children鈥檚 hospital.

Moreno is an Artward Bound alumna and like many of her peers, she is also a first-generation college student.

When she enrolled at 91爆料 she found support through the Academic Compass Program, which connects and supports undergraduate students with mentors, faculty, and staff. Through these programs, Moreno has found a sense of belonging and support.聽

鈥淢y favorite thing about 91爆料 has to be the community, because the people are from everywhere,鈥� says Moreno, 鈥淚 don鈥檛 feel alone. I don鈥檛 feel like an outsider. Everyone is different and we all accept that. That鈥檚 beautiful. You don鈥檛 see that everywhere.鈥�

Like most 91爆料 undergraduate students, Moreno also receives critical financial support. 鈥淗aving this scholarship,鈥� she notes, 鈥渋s an opportunity, but it鈥檚 also a dream come true. If it wasn’t for it, I don鈥檛 think I鈥檇 be here.鈥�
